Much like the recent storm hit the northern region the previous evening, City overwhelmed the visitors away at the their home ground. It was a convincing 3-0 win for their manager's side owing to goals from Knaak, Shaw and Lauren Hemp. It was a result that truly announced their championship potential as they reinforced their place at the WSL pinnacle.

Successive Setbacks for United

This scoreline represented consecutive league setbacks for Marc Skinner’s side for the first time since May 2024, putting them a sizable gap off the table toppers with their trophy ambitions severely dented.

Manchester United's capacity to juggle league and continental soccer with a thin roster has been a frequently analyzed subject since they earned a place in the UCL.
